College credit during high school, two types:
(EACH has a separate enrollment/application process at a different time during the semester, and students wishing to take more than 18 credit hours TOTAL in a semester must have prior "overload" approval from MAC's Academic Dean, which is not automatic and is based on prior course-load and MAC GPA; see Ms. Andrea Richardson)
If you need to drop a college class, YOU must fill out the drop form for the specific college/university prior to the drop deadline listed in your paperwork copies or the institution's website; see Ms. Andrea Richardson. You may drop the college portion (but you still have to pay once you enroll; also not covered by any scholarship) and keep the high school portion, however if you drop the high school portion and forget to drop the college portion, then you will receive an "F" on your college transcript. DUAL credit means DUAL paperwork in DUAL systems completed by the STUDENT.

- Dual Credit: college courses taught AT FHS during hours 1-7 by an FHS employee who is certified to teach college courses; grades are in SIS (so they show on your FHS report cards) and also in the college system simultaneously. Enroll at the START of the semester -- via a NEW process starting FA16. Tuition to a college is NOT required for dual credit classes for FHS credit, but it IS required for COLLEGE credit (must be paid by institutional deadline). See "DUAL CREDIT" section under "APPLYING/PAYING" and the handout found under the "Mission Statement" section under "Announcements." CTE Dual Credit included. FHS provides textbooks for dual CREDIT classes.
- CTE Dual Credit: MAC CareerTech dual credit courses taught at FHS during hours 1-7. Same criteria as Dual Credit above -- except that enrollment is completed the 2nd week of school, and there is no charge for tuition for courses only in the following areas: PLTW Engineering (Shelton), Early Childhood (P Harris/C Waters), BKTV (Steel), Business Management (Strobl), Applied Accounting 1 (Canter), Intro to Horticulture (Stroud), and Welding/Lee Mechanical (Mosier). No parent signature required on the application, however must meet the guidelines for enrollment including Recommendation Form with all signatures (includes parent, counselor, administrator) for GPA if required (see requirements by grade level).

- Dual Enrollment: college courses taught online or at a college campus, including those at the MAC Farmington Outreach Center here at FHS Monday through Thursday, 4p-7p, taught by college employees; grades are only in the college computer system until they are transferred in to the FHS system by bringing a copy of the grade (online transcript) to your FHS counselor. Tuition to college/university IS REQUIRED for all enrolled students. Enroll in the middle of the semester PRIOR to the class start date. See "DUAL ENROLLMENT" section under "APPLYING/PAYING/FORMS." Student MUST PURCHASE (sometimes rental is possible) textbooks for dual ENROLLMENT classes -- through the MAC Bookstore on the Park Hills Campus: Mineral Area College Bookstore 5270 Flat River Road Park Hills, MO 63601. Phone: 573-518-2106. Once you enroll online (if you don't already have a MAC login), then you are able to look up your MAC ID, MAC email address, and password (same for both). Online courses run through your MyMAC account; read every word of your syllabus & be sure to complete the online learning contract on the e-learning tab before your online or hybrid class starts.
